William Ware was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. He attended Baylor University in pre-med. His first love, however, was art. His best work was his illustrations for Physiology and Biology.
Ware’s commercial art experience began in 1964 in Newport Beach as an art director for an art magazine, “Orange County Illustrated”. A job illustrating for a textbook publishing company took him to Palma de Mallorca, Spain in 1966, then to New York where he did watercolors based on city street scenes. While in Spain he continued painting while also working as an illustrator for Spanish magazines. Bill met and was inspired by the works of Juan Miro.
In New York, Bill became an illustrator and featured cover artist for the Saturday Evening Post. When he moved back to Indiana as an independent artist, he found success and recognition painting a mural for the Indiana Convention Center. This led to several ongoing corporate and public commissions. His work was selected as part of a touring exhibition, Corporate Art in America.
Bill, with his wife Pamela, now lives and works in Palm Desert, CA. He continues to be a prolific artist, pursuing his passion for painting and sculpture and putting his stamp on our landscape. Today his sculpture can be found all over the Coachella Valley in private homes and gardens and in the public arena. His work is also in numerous public and private collections throughout the United States including the Nascar Museum in Indianapolis, IN.
